From 2003 – 2008 I hosted an arts & culture conversation, Strange Angels for KBeach radio. I’ve really missed the incredible idea factory of this show as I’ve been busy developing art curriculum and new immersive engagement techniques.
I thought I’d try diving back into the radio interview waters at Siggraph 2011. Still doing a “radio show,” but shooting simple video to go with it, since it’s such a video age we live in. Brian Boitano, Julie Andreyev, Sue Gollifer & Cynthia Rubin were kind enough to be the first test of my one-person audio-video-interview project. Whew! What a project. This one was far from the quality we achieved on the audio-only broadcasts from 2003-2008, but I certainly learned a lot. Between this and the pieces shot at the J2 Wedding in the following days, I think I’ve sorted out a decent way to do “Radio with Video” and hope to produce some compelling pieces for KBeach in Spring 2012. Thank you Siggraph peeps!

After completing “Route 101, End-2-End” I actually rested for a day in Olympia, then drove up (yes, “The 5″) to Seattle where I finally got to visit the place I’ve mail-ordered so much tea from, Market Spice at The Pike Place Market.
From Seattle I drove to Anacortes, WA and took the ferry from Anacortes to Friday Harbor. The vids on this page are from the ride from Friday Harbor back to Anacortes.
